AMBIENT SESSIONS 32 - JOACHIM SPIETH

Bien, aquí estamos a un año de haber comenzado este proyecto, bueno, en realidad es un poco más pero pasó por una pequeña re-estructuración.

Y que mejor manera de celebrarlo que con mix hecho por alguien que prácticamente no necesita presentación, sin embargo por si estuvieron despistados todos estos años aquí está.

Joachim Spieth es un productor y DJ alemán, cuyo característico sonido va del ambient al techno. Su carrera se remonta a finales de los años noventa, estuvo presente desde los inicios de la icónica disquera Kompakt, es sin lugar a dudas un representante del sonido de dicha disquera con base en Colonia, Alemania, así como de la serie Pop Ambient.

Es por eso que personalmente ha sido un referente desde hace 20 años, a lado de Markus Guentner y Wolfgang Voigt, por supuesto.

En el año 2007 funda su propia disquera Affin, que está en constante desarrollo, con lanzamientos frecuentes y que se ha forjado un nombre en la escena internacional. 

Ha publicado a artistas como Reggy Van Oers, Svarog, Toki Fuko, Arnaud Le Texier, su colega de Kompakt, Markus Guentner, así como producciones propias. 

Recientemente también ha publicado los trabajos de los estupendos productores de Ambient/Drone, Głós y Simone Giudice.

El año pasado Joachim lanzó su más reciente álbum en clave ambient "Terrain" y poco después "Reshape", en donde artistas como Alva Noto, bvdub, ASC, entre otros, realizaron reinterpretaciones de tracks suyos y sirvió como colofón a las celebraciones por el aniversario número 15 de Affin.

Así que no me queda más que agradecerle a Joachim por su colaboración, asimismo a todas las personas que nos han escuchado durante este primer año de vida.

Well, here we are a year after starting this project, well, actually it's a little more but it went through a little re-structuring.

And what better way to celebrate it than with a mix made by someone who practically needs no introduction, however in case you were clueless all these years here it is.

Joachim Spieth is a German producer and DJ, whose characteristic sound ranges from ambient to techno. His career dates back to the late 1990s, he was around since the beginning of the iconic Kompakt label, he is without a doubt a representative of the sound of said label based in Cologne, Germany, as well as the series Pop Ambient.

That's why he personally has been a reference for 20 years, along with Markus Guentner and Wolfgang Voigt, of course.

In 2007 he founded his own label Affin, which is in constant development, with frequent releases and has made a name for itself on the international scene. 

It has published artists such as Reggy Van Oers, Svarog, Toki Fuko, Arnaud Le Texier, Kompakt colleague Markus Guentner as well as his own productions.

It has recently published the works of the great Ambient/Drone producers, Głós and Simone Giudice.

Last year, Joachim released his most recent ambient album "Terrain" and shortly after "Reshape", where artists such as Alva Noto, bvdub, ASC, among others, reinterpreted some of his tracks and served as the culmination of the 15th anniversary celebrations of Affin.

So I can only thank Joachim for his collaboration, as well as all the people who have listened to us during this first year of life.
