Seatemples revisitan su single "Further"

Si han estado al tanto de la escena musical independiente latinoamericana, sobre todo en lo que se refiere a shoegaze o post punk, que viven un momento de ebullición tanto en cuanto a bandas como interés de los escuchas seguramente se los han encontrado.

Pero si han estado despistados y todavía no tienen el gusto de conocerlos, Seatemples es una banda proveniente de Chile, que, si bien podemos denominar como shoegaze, su sonido es una confluencia de diversos estilos alternativos, siendo el anterior el centro sobre el cual giran los demás, post punk, darkwave, e incluso rock gótico dan forma a su personalidad. 

Ahora han decidido darle un refresh a la canción "Further", uno de sus primeros sencillos, que apareció originalmente en su primer LP Down Memory Lane (2017), de tintes que evocan una mezcla de sicodelia oscura ochentera y noise rock de los '90, en un maxi single que incluye dicha versión, que sirve perfecto como introducción a su discografía.

En el refresh que le dieron podemos escuchar unas cuerdas más limpias, no por ello menos poderosas, sobre todo por su apertura muy al estilo gothic western, percusiones y beats electrónicos, que le dan una base más sólida, así como la guitarra y voz más refinadas, todo ello reflejando la evolución que han tenido a lo largo de estos años.

El maxi-single se completa con un remix de Nax, proyecto unilateral de Nicolás Castello, shoegazer originario de Argentina, que sorpresivamente distinto a sus propios trabajos, se mete de lleno a una producción electrónica entregando un track que va por los caminos del future pop y synthpop de corte industrial y glam, dándole toda una nueva personalidad a "Further", se agradece que no sea un remix genérico, se nota el trabajo y la intención en la producción.

Para el arte de portada recurrieron a Damaris Villegas, fotógrafa argentina, que, interviniendo colores y formas, intenta evocar una diversidad de miradas.

Sirva este lanzamiento como introducción y carta de presentación de los chilenos, en el que en dos tracks y un excelente remix podemos distinguir y apreciar el trabajo que han realizado en una cantidad relativamente corta de tiempo, no es por nada que ya se hayan ganado un lugar en la escena mundial y sido editados en Alemania, por la disquera Blackjack Illuminist Records, ahora esperemos que más nos tienen preparado para el futuro.

If you have been aware of the Latin American independent music scene, especially in what refers to shoegaze or post punk, which are experiencing a boiling moment both in terms of bands and interest from listeners, you have surely found them.

But if you have been clueless and still do not have the pleasure of meeting them, Seatemples is a band from Chile, which, although we can call it shoegaze, its sound is a confluence of various alternative styles, the former being the center around which they revolve. the others, post punk, darkwave, and even gothic rock shape their personality.

Now they have decided to give a refresh to the song "Further", one of their first singles, which originally appeared on their first LP Down Memory Lane (2017), with overtones that evoke a mixture of dark eighties psychedelia and noise rock from the 90's, in a maxi single that includes said version, which serves perfectly as an introduction to their discography.

In the refresh they gave it we can hear cleaner strings, no less powerful for that, especially due to its opening very much in the gothic western style, percussions and electronic beats, which give it a more solid base, as well as the guitar and voice more refined, all reflecting the evolution they have had over the years.

The maxi-single is completed with a remix by Nax, a unilateral project by Nicolás Castello, a shoegazer from Argentina, who, surprisingly different from his own work, plunges fully into an electronic production, delivering a track that goes along the paths of future pop, and industrial/glam synthpop, giving "Further" a whole new personality, it is appreciated that it is not a generic remix, the work and intention in the production is noticeable.

For the cover art, they turned to Damaris Villegas, an Argentinean photographer, who, intervening colors and shapes, tries to evoke a diversity of views.

Serve this release as an introduction and cover letter for the Chileans, in which in two tracks and an excellent remix we can distinguish and appreciate the work they have done in a relatively short amount of time, it is not for nothing that they have already earned a place on the world scene and been released in Germany, by the label Blackjack Illuminist Records, now we hope that they have more prepared for the future.
