AMBIENT SESSIONS - REFLECTION Part 1

Prácticamente ya transcurrió un mes desde que comenzó el año 2023, sin embargo no quería dejar pasar la oportunidad de tener un momento de reflexión sobre el año que terminó. Si la vida puede cambiar de un momento a otro, con mayor razón a lo largo de 365 días.

No cabe duda que el 2022 estuvo lleno de momentos inesperados, y Ambient Sessions no fue la excepción. 

Como se los he mencionado en otras ocasiones, es un proyecto que imaginé por muchos años, y en el corto período de tiempo que lleva de vida ya ha pasado por diversas transformaciones.

Comenzó como una serie de eventos en vivo para sacudirse un poco lo sucedido durante el periodo de confinamiento por la pandemia, reconectar con los espacios públicos y entre las personas, que mejor que con la música que tanto me ha ayudado a sobrellevar momentos difíciles y emociones negativas. 

A la par de darle mayor difusión y apoyo a la música Ambient y Drone en México, de los eventos en vivo pasamos a los mixes, hechos por artistas invitados y algunos por mí mismo.

Aprovecho para agradecer profundamente a todxs los artistas, músicxs, productorxs, que se dieron un tiempo de sus muchas actividades para realizar una selección y contribuir con el proyecto, que a fin de cuentas es por la música misma.

La selección que realicé es un homenaje y agradecimiento a todxs ellxs y a la gente que nos escucha, elegí tracks de producciones lanzadas durante el 2022, intentando crear un momento de reflexión y contemplación. 

Debido a la gran cantidad de increíbles lanzamientos es prácticamente imposible hacer una selección justa y representativa, sin embargo hice, o al menos, intenté darle algo de coherencia.

Esta es la primera parte, publicaré la segunda la próxima semana. Espero que la disfruten.

Practically a month has passed since the year 2023 began, however, I did not want to miss the opportunity to have a moment of reflection on the year that ended. If life can change from one moment to the next, even more so over 365 days.

There is no doubt that 2022 was full of unexpected moments, and Ambient Sessions was no exception.

As I have mentioned to you on other occasions, it is a project that I imagined for many years, and in the short period of time that it has been alive, it has already undergone various transformations.

It began as a series of live events to shake off what happened during the period of confinement due to the pandemic, reconnect with public spaces and between people, what better than with music that has helped me so much to cope with difficult moments and negative emotions.

Along with giving greater dissemination and support to Ambient and Drone music in Mexico, we went from live events to mixes, made by invited artists and some by myself.

I take this opportunity to deeply thank all the artists, musicians, producers, who took time out of their many activities to make a selection and contribute to the project, which in the end is for the music itself.

The selection I made is a tribute and thanks to all of them and to the people who listen to us, I chose tracks from productions released during 2022, trying to create a moment of reflection and contemplation.

Due to the sheer number of amazing releases it's nearly impossible to make a fair and representative selection, however I did, or at least tried to give it some consistency.
