AMBIENT SESSIONS 13 - ESMAM LA CROWNED

Siempre es gratificante cuando llega el mensaje de algún artista que quiere compartir su trabajo, ya sea para escucharlo u observarlo, aún más cuando se trata de alguien que vive a miles de kilómetros de distancia del otro lado del mundo. Es el caso de un correo que me llegó hace unas semanas, de parte de un productor originario de Bangladesh, en el sur del continente asiático, que además es un talentoso fotógrafo, su nombre es Esmam La Crowned y el álbum en cuestión es su nuevo LP Nuclear City, inspirado por la historia del pequeño pueblo de Ruppur, al oeste del país y alejado de la capital, el cómo éste y sus habitantes están pasando por un proceso de transformación debido a la construcción de la primera planta de energía nuclear del país.

Al álbum lo compaña una serie de fotografías tomadas por el mismo artista, que retratan y sirven como registro de los cambios y el contexto que inspiró a la creación de Nuclear City.

Por supuesto, ya que me contactó no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de invitarlo a realizar una sesión para nuestra serie de mixes. Aquí el resultado, donde conjunta tracks propios con algunos de artistas como Rafael Anton Irisarri, bvdub, Loscil, y How To Disappear Completely, creando una línea narrativa en resonancia con su más reciente álbum.

It is always gratifying when a message arrives from an artist who wants to share their work, either to listen to it or observe it, even more so when it comes to someone who lives miles away on the other side of the world, as in the case of an email which arrived a few weeks ago, from a producer originally from Bangladesh, in the south of the Asian continent, who is also a talented photographer, his name is Esmam La Crowned and the album in question is his new LP Nuclear City, inspired by the history of the small town of Ruppur, in the west of the country and far from the capital, how it and its inhabitants are undergoing a process of transformation due to the construction of the first nuclear power plant in the country.

The album is accompanied by a series of photographs taken by the artist himself, which portray and serve as a record of the changes and the context that inspired the creation of Nuclear City.

Of course, since he contacted me, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to invite him to do a session for our series of mixes. Here is the result, where he combines his own tracks with some of artists such as Rafael Anton Irisarri, bvdub, Loscil, and How To Disappear Completely, creating a narrative line in resonance with his most recent album.
