AMBIENT SESSIONS 07 - TREMOLO AUDIO

Probablemente muchos no sabrán de quién hablo al mencionar a Tremolo Audio, tal vez tampoco a Jorge Verdín, sin embargo la mayoría reconocerá de inmediato el nombre de Clorofila, quien fuese miembro del Colectivo Nortec, reconocido internacionalmente, pues estamos hablando de la mismo persona en todos los casos.
Creo que no es necesario aclarar que conozco y gusto de su trabajo desde que Nortec irrumpió en la escena electrónica nacional, siempre he intentado mantenerme al tanto de su trabajo.
Jorge también es la mitad del dúo Observador, a lado de José Luis Martín aka Antropotrip, diseñador y videoartista afincado en la Ciudad de México, su colaboración surgió después del terremoto que azotó México en 2017, fungiendo como catarsis para todas las emociones surgidas a partir de ese terrible evento, musicalmente, Observador se inclina hacia la sonoridad del post rock, lo cual hace sentido si pensamos en la estética emotiva de dicho estilo.
Bajo el alias de Tremolo Audio, Verdín explora paisajes más intimistas ayudado de equipo análogo, tape loops y sampleos, resultando en tracks de que van del indie/folktronic, pasando por lo-fi hasta ambient, a esta parte le da salida a través de su propia label C90 Recordings.
Para su mix en Ambient Sessions hizo una curaduría intergeneracional que incluye tracks inesperados de bandas conocidas como Cocteau Twins, Durutti Column, Japan, David Sylvian, David Byrne & Brian Eno, la IDM de Dextro y Plaid, la new wave de Depeche Mode y Tears for Fears, hasta el ambient de Biosphere y Susumu Yokota.
Con la particularidad de que suena atemporal, a pesar de que gran parte de la selección tiene alrededor de cuarenta años, es donde se nota el conocimiento y bagaje musical de Tremolo Audio, un deleite para el escucha conocedor y el nuevo también.

Probably many will not know who I am talking about when I mention Tremolo Audio, perhaps not even Jorge Verdín, however most will immediately recognize the name of Clorofila, who was a member of the internationally recognized Nortec Collective, since we are talking about the same person in all cases.
I think it is not necessary to clarify that I have known and liked his work since Nortec broke into the national electronic scene, I have always tried to keep abreast of his work.
Jorge is also one half of the Observador duo, alongside José Luis Martín aka Antropotrip, designer and video artist based in Mexico City, their collaboration arose after the earthquake that hit Mexico in 2017, serving as a catharsis for all the emotions arising from of that terrible event, musically Observador leans towards the sonority of post rock, which makes sense if we think about the emotional aesthetics of said style.
Under the alias of Tremolo Audio, Verdín explores more intimate landscapes with the help of analog equipment, tape loops and samples, resulting in tracks that range from indie/folktronic, through lo-fi to ambient. He releases this part through his own label C90 Recordings.
For his mix at Ambient Sessions he curated intergenerationally including unexpected tracks from well-known bands like Cocteau Twins, Durutti Column, Japan, David Sylvian, David Byrne & Brian Eno, IDM Dextro and Plaid, new wave Depeche Mode and Tears for Fears, to the ambient of Biosphere and Susumu Yokota.
With the particularity that it sounds timeless, despite the fact that a large part of the selection is around forty years old, it is where the knowledge and musical background of Tremolo Audio is noticeable, a delight for the connoisseur listener and the new one as well.
