AMBIENT SESSIONS 16 - DARREN McCLURE
Recuerdo que si bien mi interés por la música electrónica de ritmos lentos, pausados y downbeat, tales como el ambient house, chill out y downtempo, comenzó desde finales de los años '90, no fue sino hasta entrada la década de 2010 cuando realmente me adentré en el ambient "serio" y sus lazos con prácticas más allegadas a la música experimental y el arte sonoro.
Precisamente uno de los primeros artistas que llamaron mi atención fue Darren McClure, desde entonces hasta el día de hoy he seguido su carrera, hasta donde me es posible, ya que es sumamente prolífica.
Originario de Irlanda pero asentado en Japón, tiene material editado en varias de las más importantes disqueras dentro del estilo, tales como Inner Ocean Records, Neotantra, Hibernate, Flaming Pines, Dragon's eye Recordings, entre otras. También ha colaborado con artistas como Arovane, Porya Hatami, James Osland, entre otros varios.
Es así que con mucho agrado les comparto el mix realizado por él para la serie de Ambient Sessions, para la cual decidió elegir tracks de los que han sido sus lanzamientos favoritos en lo que va del año, que sin duda ha sido increíble para el ambient, drone y estilos afines.

I remember that although my interest in electronic music with slow, leisurely and downbeat rhythms, such as ambient house, chill out and downtempo, began in the late '90s, it wasn't until the early 2010s that I really got into "serious" ambient and it's links with practices closer to experimental music and sound art.
Precisely one of the first artists that caught my attention was Darren McClure, from then until today I have followed his career, as far as possible, since it is extremely prolific.
Originally from Ireland but based in Japan, he has released material on several of the most important labels within the style, such as Inner Ocean Records, Neotantra, Hibernate, Flaming Pines, Dragon's Eye Recordings, among others. He has also collaborated with artists such as Arovane, Porya Hatami, James Osland, among many others.
It is thus that I am very pleased to share with you the mix made by him for the Ambient Sessions series, for which he decided to choose tracks from what have been his favorite releases so far this year, which have undoubtedly been incredible for ambient , drone and related styles.
